Non-pet owners look to pet shops for deterrent solutions.

Recent research has shown that a staggering 66% of all garden owners are annoyed by neighbours' pets using their garden as a toilet. Asked where they would look to find a solution, the vast majority (nearly 90 per cent) of people said they would try a pet shop.

Guaber UK Ltd., manufacturers of the Get Off
range of pet deterrents, recently carried out an omnibus survey* of over 1,000 adults in the UK to find out more about attitudes to pet fouling in the garden. Results show that it is a serious concern to a large part of the population, especially non-pet owners and people with young children.

Fiorella Testa, Get Off product manager remarked "We were interested to see that even non-pet owners would expect pet shops to be the main source of deterrent solutions. For the pet trade this represents a significant opportunity to attract people who would not otherwise be regular shoppers in their outlets".

A new high profile consumer press campaign for Get Off will launch this summer targeted at non-pet owners. The new Get Off website is also due to launch in April.

The Get Off range offers a simple and effective way to deter cats and dogs from fouling, digging up the garden and marking their territories. It includes treatments for problems outdoors and indoors. Get Off uses methyl nonyl ketone, a highly effective active ingredient which causes a harmless disorientation in cats and dogs. When exposed, animals quickly learn to avoid treated areas.
